On what has been a very challenging week for my neighbour Jane there was some lightheartedness and kindness on Friday that will stay with her for a long time.
She had not eaten for two days and when I went to pick her up from visiting her mother in hospital. It was late when I phoned Kastriot's and on what was a very busy night, they very kindly fitted us in.
On arrival they had a table ready and knew the situation and were so kind to my friend that we were both quite emotional. We were quickly served with an amazing Focaccia which The Mary would have rated 10/10! The service was kind and discreet and Jane devoured her Lamb dish which was as usual delicious.
When it was time to pay the bill, i asked but nothing was brought to the table.
How very kind!
Jane hugged The Gjini so tight I thought he would suffocate. This memory will make a very difficult time in her life easier to bear knowing there is such kindness out there.
I'm not sure if it's too late to vote but if you haven't yet done so, get on it for Kastriot's because in my mind they are the winners in every respect.
